On arrival, our attentive receptionist will welcome you and make you comfortable in our patient lounge.
If you have been referred and have brought any information from your referring dentist, our receptionist will request them at this point. You will be asked to complete a Registration and Medical History Form if you have not done so already.
During your first visit, Dr Michael Cai or one of our dentists will listen carefully to you to gain a better understanding of your needs and expectations with respect to the dental treatment outcomes that will be of most benefit to you. We will then undertake a comprehensive examination of your face, mouth and jaws, including the soft tissues inside and outside of your mouth. Your smile, teeth, gums and bite will be carefully examined. Sometimes, our next step will usually be to obtain images of your jaws and teeth using our digital radiograph system and/or our high resolution OPG as well as obtaining study casts of your teeth, a registration of your bite, and photos.
A written treatment plan will then be developed for you. Depending on your situation, the dentist might consult with other Specialists or members of the team to develop your comprehensive treatment plan. If there are alternative treatment pathways, these will be clearly communicated.
This plan, including alternatives, advantages/disadvantages and costs will then be presented to you at your next appointment. We will explain the written treatment plan to you containing both the treatment steps and the fee estimates for each of those steps, in order to provide you with a very clear and transparent explanation about the recommended treatment.
